Warning Sign
Been on the highway at 8am or 5pm lately? It's dead stop.
You know there's a reason, because it's not normally like this.
Finally you come across one of those yellow flashing signs. Finally! Some feedback on why I'm stuck in traffic:

"Over The Limit;
Under Arrest"

WHAT? Did you post these signs to tell me not to drink and drive? Does anyone forget?

"Buckle Up;
Or go Down town"

Huh!? More gov't babysitting?

Looks like some people didn't take too kindly to being reminded of such things.

They're reprogramming the signs to say other things. Now, you have to be within wireless range for a good amount of time to hack these signs, from what I understand. I guess if you're sitting in traffic, and the sign doesn't tell you why...then heck why not.
The gov't actually came out and said this was a bad idea. What if there really were zombies, people would start to think the signs are still kidding people. WHAT? Seriously! Holy Crap! Is this really a 'boy cried wolf' situation?

Like anything else, it's not yours, don't mess with it. However, maybe this will make the DOT stop and think about how they're actually using the signs.

PS: "Feeling Frustrated? Come on down to Lew's Gun shop. Next Exit"

Even with WEP encryption it's still hackable if you can get a few minutes of packets to sniff and such. My guess is that the signs need more security attached to them. Why they don't already, I have no idea.

I think they are a waste of electricity when they mention things like "buckle up or go down town" - they are there for emergency use, in my opinion. Billboards are another story - let the government pay a private company for billboard space.
